The Lost Sonnet Meritage 2007 - We picked up this nice red while at Trader Joe’s tonight. This red blend is made up of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, and 20% Cabernet Franc. Dry notes of toasty oak, chocolate and a subtle nutty hint of coffee on the nose. Cranberry, cherry and red berries on the palate with a dry spicy finish. This red has strong tannins and a bold palate. It reminds me of a holiday mulled wine, with a beautiful dark garnet color.
